Subrogation Help

Ruth, a 61 years old member, fell and was injured during one of her weekly activities. Her fall resulted in severe injuries, requiring several surgeries, keeping her from work for a period of three months. Her employer did not provide a short term disability benefit and she faced having no income for the three months she was unable to work. Ruth’s bills began to mount and her medical bill reached as high as $22,000 for her non-profit employer.

The Solution - Subrogation Help
As the benefits provider for Ruth’s employer, SIHO stepped up as an advocate for Ruth. Her injuries resulted in Ruth needing constant assistance from her family for her day-to-day activities. SIHO found the cause of the accident was cracks in the stairs and contacted the liability carrier of the building where Ruth’s fall occurred. After several negotiation attempts, the liability carrier agreed to disburse medical bills and the loss of wages accrued during the three month period. SIHO helped the employer by relieving them from paying medical bills caused by cracks in the stairway and helped Ruth get the proper treatment while ensuring her income during her injury.
